The American Academy of Arts and Letters presented Michael with a Charles Ives Fellowship at its annual Ceremonial on May 19, 2010. 

International Opera Theater will present the world premiere performances of The Decameron at the Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia on November 12-14, 2010.  Michael is one of seven composers writing music for the opera, which is based on a work by the 14th-century Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio. 

New audio excerpts of Noche Extensa, Impressions du Lanugedoc, The Seahorse and the Crab, and Scène et Pas de deux have been posted online.
